Georgetown University Officers overwhelmingly ratified their NEW three-year SPFPA contract.
The International Union, Security, Police and Fire Professionals of America (SPFPA) has done it again by negotiating the highest single wage increase for the Georgetown University Officers in the history of this contract after our Union successfully negotiated a $4.25 wage increase.
In addition to the above, our Union successfully negotiated retro pay and increased the pay rate of training officers. If, for some reason, the campus closes, officers will receive campus closure pay at 2.5 times the officer’s regular hourly rate. In addition, officers will have access to a meal allowance and temporary assignment pay.
Georgetown officers noted we were stuck in a no-show, no-service Union that failed to reply to the request of the membership and the employer to renegotiate our contract last year, which left money on the table that would have helped our families and us. He didn’t show up and let the contract rollover with no wage increase.
“We are glad to be rid of Maritas and his UFLEOS and back in a real Union. Thank you from all of us.”
