- Steve Maritas was arrested in Hawaii for sexual assault, involving the grabbing of the victim’s genitals. He was convicted of third-degree assault. See the picture below.
Also shown in the photo is Les Kaciban — the former president of Paragon Security, who was recently indicted by a grand jury on charges of defrauding the U.S. government of more than $12 million. According to the charges, he created shell companies to bid on government security contracts and received kickbacks through fraudulent consulting arrangements.
Despite these allegations, Maritas partnered with Kaciban while attempting to fool officers into joining UFLEOS-PBA.
Rumor has it that Kaciban has fled the country and is currently considered a fugitive from justice. Maritas and Kaciban — two criminals looking to take your hard-earned money.
Maritas’ union prior to UFLEOS-PBA, known as LEOSU, is currently in bankruptcy proceedings — and Maritas himself has also filed for bankruptcy.

A public records search reveals additional existing, active lawsuits against STEVEN ANGELO MARITAS, Charles Strebeck, UFLEOS, LEOSU and others affiliated with the UFLEOS. Among these records is a recent 2026 U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Michigan Special Master Report and Recommendation that recommends a judgment in favor of the SPFPA against the LEOSU in the amount of $2,134,068.18.
In the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania Maritas has made it known to avoid answering questions about his finances that his intention is to invoke his fifth amendment constitutional right self-incrimination – WHAT IS HE HIDING!
